Everyone has surely seen cartoon characters with groundhogs or played the "whack-a-mole" video game, right?!

Now, a real "mouse" version of the "groundhog" has arrived!

A group of new friends have recently arrived at Green World Ecological Farm's Grand Adventure Zone:

Black-tailed Prairie Dogs.

Black-tailed marmots, who love to live in groups, are very close friends.

One moment they're wrestling, the next they're stealing kisses, and then they're giving each other incredibly innocent looks.

It has an incredibly cute and mischievous appearance, along with chirping and cooing sounds.

It caused everyone (including the breeders themselves) to destroy all the film negatives!

 

Black-tailed Prairie Dogs

Distribution: North American grasslands

Scientific name: Cynomys ludovicianus

Size: Approximately 30 cm, 0.5-1.5 kg

Coat color: Mainly grayish-brown, with a grayish-yellow belly and a black tail tip.

Classification: Order Rodentia, Family Sciuridae

Food: Seeds, flowering plants, herbs, insects, roots and rhizomes
