The baby monitor lizard stayed close to its mother, never leaving her side.
There were also adorable pink baby hedgehogs, less than a week old, snuggling up to their mother. So cute!

Scientific name: Erinaceus europaeus
Distribution: Africa, Eurasia
Food: Soil organisms such as earthworms, butterfly and moth larvae.
Description: This animal is nocturnal, mostly active and foraging at dawn and dusk. It has short, dense spines that curl into a ball to protect itself from enemies. It also has a habit of spitting out foamy saliva to coat its body.

Swamp Monitor Lizard
Scientific name: Varanus salvator
Distribution: India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other countries.
Food: shrimp, crab, birds, frogs and snakes, carcasses or any meat that can be swallowed.
Description: This is a semi-aquatic, diurnal animal. It is the second largest lizard in the world, reaching over two meters in length. It lives in swampy areas and is adept at diving to catch fish and climbing trees.
